First Week Reflection

We are one week into the HHPv2, and the first week was a busy one! See the student comment section for a sense of how our students feel about the HHP so far...

1. What was your favourite part of week 1? Why?
2. What were you excited to learn? Why?
3. How does project-based learning compare to what you normally do in school? Which do you like better? Why?

My favorite part of week 1 was going to the U of R to learn about mixing and learning about music terms. I also enjoyed talking with Farley Flex about making goals for yourself for the future, like what you wanna be.
I'm excited to learn more about the mixer and how to use it. I like this project-based learning better because we get to go places and learn about interesting things that affect us in this day and age.

1. My favourite part of week number one was day one when we got to go to the university and fiddle with the turntables.

2. I am excited to learn how to record and add on IMP lab work stations.

3. It is much better doing project style learning then normal school work. It is less boring to do project style work. I have only been in the project for a while and so far I enjoy it a lot more, because of the activities and all other things we get to learn.

3. I guess you do a lot more activities and it seems a lot better. I like the project-baesd learning.

2.Im exited to learn how to make beats.

3. I think project based learning is a lot more fun than normal school work because we get to do a lot more things independently.

my favorite part of week one was going to the university and learning about the different labs and how the turntables work, and how to make beats and meeting Dr. Charity. I like how we work more with music and study our favourite artists.

The things that I'm excited to learn about would be the way music was created and learning how to use the turntables and just to experience creative things from the past that been brought to the future for new begingings.

My favourite part of week 1 was meeting Farley Flex. He helped share the fact that I write songs and kept it a secert to myself.
Also he talked about what I would like to accomplish when I'm older if songwriting doesn't work out.
What I was most excited about learning was the turntables and how to make beats to the songs I write. I like the fact that I'm not sitting in a desk being bored, that I'm actually moving around when I'm in the hip-hop class. I also like more is that I get to meet new people in what we are doing.

My favourite part of the first week of the project is when we went to the U of R and learned the basics of the turntables and mpc's.
I want to learn more about the Mpc's,the turntables, and how to write my own lyrics/rhymes.

My favorite part about week 1 was going to the U of R to go and make beats and turntable. I wanted to learn turntabling because it's pretty cool and you gotta be good to do it. I like project based learning because it teaches you stuff like how to get along with people + school is boring.
